I’m with your mom. Take your teacher’s criticism as constructive and make changes to your paper accordingly. You should also ask the teacher what she meant by the comments you deem to be “off-base, irrelevant, and stupid.” Perhaps she’s got a reasonable explanation for the comments that you just don’t see because you’re miffed at your grade.

The best way to deal with it is to just deal with it. Call it a life lesson it will continue to happen to you through out life. You are going to encounter people who either honestly don’t get you and what your saying or just have a problem with you in general. not only that but you will also at some point do this to other people. Most often it will, I hope, be unintentional. So chalk this one up to good karma because you accepted that your teacher is human and you will not always agree with her.

Have your principal check your work without seeing the grade you received from your teacher. If your principal has a different view, then let your principal know.
